CPO Approved Working at Heights Training

As of October 1st 2017, the Ontario Ministry of Labour requires employers must ensure that certain workers complete a Working at Heights training program that has been approved by the Chief Prevention Officer (CPO) of the Ministry of Labour and delivered before they can work safely at heights.

The training requirement is for workers on construction projects who use any of the following methods of fall protection: travel restraint systems, fall restricting systems, fall arrest systems, safety nets, work belts and/or safety belts.

Each participant is required to bring government issued photo ID, & CSA approved safety footwear, as well long pants must be worn. Participants who do not have the required identification, footwear and long pants will be removed from the class & reschedule.

CPO Approved Working at Heights Refresher Training

Every three years you must take a CPO Approved Working at Heights Refrsher program to maintain you training. We offer a 4hr course to get you back up at heights and working safely!

Each participant is required to bring government issued photo ID, & CSA approved safety footwear, as well long pants must be worn. Participants who do not have the required identification, footwear and long pants will be removed from the class & reschedule.

Working at Heights is a prerequisite for this program. If you have not completed a CPO-approved Working at Heights program, you may not receive your Ministry of Labour Record of Training. To confirm your eligibility for this Refresher program, use the Eligibility Checker tool.

Entry Level Confined Space Rescue Training

This course will provide the learner with the required knowledge to perform an entry level confined space rescue. During this training program we will cover complex confined space entries that will require rescue term to enter the space to retrieve their co worker.  Each participant will be required to pass a written test with a minimum 75%, be familiar with all equipment, rigging and related equipment and demonstrating their ability to perform in every duty position in a hands on mock entry.

Non-Entry Level Confined Space Rescue Training

This course will provide the learner with the required knowledge to perform a non-entry level confined space rescue. This course will cover simple confined space entries where the attendant can safely remove the entrant with out needing to enter the space. Each participant will be required to pass a written test with a minimum 75%, be familiar with all equipment, rigging and related equipment and demonstrating their ability to perform in every duty position in a hands-on mock entry.

1) A valid CPO Approved Working at Heights Certificate (If Applicable)

Tower Crane and Construction Rescue Training

This course will provide the learner with the required knowledge to perform a Tower Crane and Construction Rescue. At the end of this course you will be able to demonstrate how to setup and dismantle rescue systems used in typical rescues from a tower crane and/or suspended casualties on a construction site. Each participant will be required to pass a written test with a minimum 75%, be familiar with all equipment, rigging and related equipment, and demonstrate their ability to perform a daily inspection. A complete understanding of the workings of the descent system must be demonstrated and the ability to instruct workers in the correct procedures using the descent system.

Prerequisite:

1) A valid CPO Approved Working at Heights Certificate (If Applicable)

Communication Tower Rescue Training

This course will provide the learner with the required knowledge to perform a Communication Tower Rescue. Whether it be a Self-Supporting Tower, or even a Guyed Tower, we will show you the necessary skills needed to perform any rescue you may encounter. Each participant will be required to pass a written test with a minimum 75%, be familiar with all equipment, rigging and related equipment, and demonstrate their ability to perform a daily inspection. A complete understanding of the workings of the descent system must be demonstrated and the ability to instruct workers in the correct procedures using the descent system.

Competent PPE Inspections Training

This 1-Day Program will give you all the necessary knowledge needed to perform your own competent PPE Inspections. Participants will be taught practical techniques and procedures required to conduct thorough examinations, produce inspection reports, and specify corrective action when needed. Considerations for creating a management system for tracking life safety equipment will also be covered. The last portion of this course will include both a written and practical exam. Students who pass the exam will receive a PPE inspection – competent person certification.

Our training not only meets the standards for the Ministry of Labour approval, it has also been approved by the Ministry of Environment.

This training is for workers in the municipal environment who use any of the following methods of fall protection: travel restraint systems, fall restricting systems, fall arrest systems, safety nets, work belts and/or safety belts and need to collect CEU credits.

Each participant is required to bring government issued photo ID, & CSA approved safety footwear, as well long pants must be worn. Participants who do not have the required identification, and footwear, will be removed from the class & will not be provided a refund.

Ministry of Environment Director Approved Training – 0.4 CEU

Employers must ensure that certain workers complete a Working at Heights training program that has been approved by the Chief Prevention Officer (CPO) and delivered by a CPO approved training provider before they can work at heights. Our training not only meets the standards for the Ministry of Labour approval, it has also been approved by the Ministry of Environment.

This training is for workers in the municipal environment who use any of the following methods of fall protection: travel restraint systems, fall restricting systems, fall arrest systems, safety nets, work belts and/or safety belts and need to collect CEU credits.

To keep your certificate valid beyond three years, you will need to complete an approved WAH refresher program. After you complete the refresher you will get another 3 year certification.
